Corrie Francis Parks
Corrie Francis Parks erweckt das Unbelebte zum Leben, indem sie Bild für Bild physische Materialien manipuliert. Mit einer Hand unter der Kamera und der anderen auf der Computertastatur, erhalten ihre Filme und Installationen eine organische Verbindung zu traditionellen Produktionsmethoden und integriert digitale Technologie . Sie ist außerordentliche Professorin für Animation an der University of Maryland, Baltimore County und Autorin des Buches Fluid Frames: Animieren unter der Kamera mit Sand, Lehm, Farbe und Pixeln.

Projekt: Embodied Ice
Corrie Francis Parks erweckt das Unbelebte durch Bild-für-Bild-Manipulation physischer Materialien zum Leben. Mit Embodied Ice sucht sie die Eiszeit in menschlicher Zeit zu fassen. Corrie Francis Parks wird die interaktive Videoinstallation im Rahmen ihrer Residency in Salzburg weiterentwickeln. Bestehende Teile werden adaptiert und mit Material wie Daten vor Ort, mit Dateneingaben zu menschlichen Aktivitäten, von öffentlichen Orten oder Proben aus der Salzach gefüttert. Corrie Francis Parks Residency ist Teil von MediaART grant der Stadt Salzburg.

The American artist Corrie Francis Parks is subnetAIR & MediaART grant 2022 of the city of Salzburg at Künstlerhaus Salzburg and at Schmiede in Hallein.

Corrie Francis Parks
Corrie Francis Parks brings life to the inanimate through frame-by-frame manipulation of physical materials. With one hand under the camera and the other on the computer keyboard, her films and installations maintain an organic connection to traditional production methods while fully integrating digital technology. She is an Associate Professor of Animation at University of
Maryland, Baltimore County and author of the book, Fluid Frames: Animating Under the Camera with Sand, Clay, Paint and Pixels.

Project: Embodied Ice
Corrie Francis Parks brings the inanimate to life through frame-by-frame manipulation of physical materials. With Embodied Ice, she seeks to capture the ice age in human time. Corrie Francis Parks will further develop the interactive video installation as part of her residency in Salzburg. Existing parts will be adapted and fed with material such as data on site, with data input on human activities, from public places or samples from the Salzach river. Corrie Francis Park’s residency is part of MediaART grant of the city of Salzburg.
