Montreal native Myriam Bleau is part of subnet’s „Artists in Residence“ programme 2015. She is a composer, digital artist and performer. Exploring the limits between musical performance and digital arts, she creates audiovisual systems that go beyond the screen, such as sound installations and performance-specific musical interfaces.

During the „subnet Artist Talk“ she will discuss her interdisciplinary concept-based approach to electronic music, where technology allows for intricate but coherent interrelations between the visual, the audible, the kinetic and the interactive. She will present her most recent works: Soft Revolvers, a physical performance for hip hop spinning tops-turntables and autopsy.glass, a project that deals with tension in performance through the use of kinetic torture machines for wine glasses. She will also introduce the project that she’s developing at subnet, Music for Telegraphs, a sound installation for a telegraph orchestra, that reinvents the Marconi spark gap transmitter, integrating it into a musical discussion about communication media.
