Wie jedes Jahr sucht Schmiede seit 2003 die Leichtigkeit im Spiel und im Miteinander. Wir kommen in Hallein zusammen, um unsere Ideen zu entwickeln und sie mit anderen zu teilen, Prototypen zu bauen und auszuprobieren, emergente Themen zu diskutieren und dabei voneinander zu lernen.Die seriöse Leichtigkeit des Spiels ist unser oberstes Ziel. Diese optimistische Bejahung von allem, was ist, findet sich auch in Hoffnung, Liebe und Kunst. Nicht durch Hierarchie oder Beurteilung, sondern durch Verbindung und Verantwortung streben wir danach, zu lernen, uns zu entwickeln und gemeinsam auf dem Spielplatz der Ideen Zeit zu verbringen. Die Familie der Smith ist das Zeichen, das wir hinterlassen.
Smiths sind die Teilnehmer:innen, Netzwerk und Familie der Schmiede. Wir sind verbunden, nicht durch Blut, sondern durch Zusammenarbeit und Tradition. Im Morgenrot unseres dritten Jahrzehnts wird Schmiede einen genaueren Blick auf den Saft des Lebens werfen, der uns ohne klaren Grund verbindet und spaltet.
Schmiede Themen sowie Variation entstehen im besten Fall spielerisch und gemeinsam. Blood entstand nach einer Idee von Nina, die sich überlegte, in der Schmiede Filmblut zu produzieren, Eni nahm den Ball auf und beschloss, vegane Blutwürste wären der sinnvolle nächste Schritt. Nur um von Rüdiger bestohlen zu werden, der Tradition, Beziehung, Verbindung und Trennung sowie eine logische Projektion des Sündenbocks sah. Wir hoffen auf viele weitere unerwartete Wendungen und Ideen.

Die zehn Tage der Schmiede folgen dem bewährten Rhythmus: Begrüssung gefolgt von Networking, Inspiration und Arbeit bis zur Präsentation. Schmieden ist ein kollektiver Prozess aus Learning by Doing, Kooperation und Austausch im Spannungsfeld Kunst, Wissenschaft, Maker Kultur und CoCreation. Aber am Wichtigsten ist, dass sich Deine Schmiede um Dich und Deine Ideen dreht. Wir bieten einen Raum, ein wenig Infrastruktur und eine große Gruppe von inspirierenden wie motivierten Smiths.

As every year, since 2003, Schmiede seeks the lightness of joy in play and cooperation. We come together in Hallein to build our ideas, share them with others and learn in the process. The serious lightness of play is our highest target. This optimistic affirmation of all that is can also be found in hope, love and art. Not through hierarchy or judgment but by connection and responsibility we quest to learn, develop and walk together on the playground of ideas. The Smith family is the mark we leave.
The Smiths are the participants and family of Schmiede. We are connected, not through blood but by cooperation and tradition. As we continue into the third decade Schmiede will take a closer look at the juice of life that connects and splits us for no clear reason.
The Schmiede23 theme Blood was developed in a similar playful process. It was initiated by Nina thinking about producing movie blood at Schmiede. Eni picked up the ball and decided to quest for vegan blood sausages. Only to be robbed by Rüdiger who saw tradition, relation, connection and separation as well as a logical projection of Sündenbock. We hope to enjoy many more unexpected turns and ideas.
Process wise Schmiede will happen as it did for the past 20 years, but in a slightly altered apparel, pictures.
The ten days of Schmiede will follow the established rhythm: Welcome followed by networking, inspiration and work leading up to presentation. Schmiede is a collective process of learning by doing, cooperation and exchange. We move in the area of Art, Science, Maker and Cocreation. Most importantly Schmiede is about what you want to do, we offer a space, some infrastructure and many inspiring and motivated Smiths.

Schmiede ist eine CoCreation und Prototyping-Umgebung im regionalen Raum, in Hallein, im Land Salzburg. Unser Schwerpunkt liegt auf zeitgenössischen Lebenswelten rund um die Künste, Hacking und Selbstermächtigung. Die Schmiede befähigt den Prozess der sozialen Vernetzung indem wir Menschen, Technik und Raum punktuell in einer kritischen Masse zusammenbringt. Unsere Teilnehmerinnen haben die Freiheit selbstbestimmt ihre Arbeit wie Inspiration zu finden. Ummantelt ist die Schmiede von einem weitläufigen vertiefenden wie optionalen Programm. Im besten Fall wird auch dieses von den Teilnehmerinnen für die Teilnehmerinnen gemacht. Die Schmiede ist ein semi-öffentlicher Kontext. Der Arbeitsteil ist den Teilnehmerinnen vorbehalten und geschlossen. Der Präsentationsteil ist der Öffentlichkeit frei zugänglich. Eine Schmiede dauert 10 Tage und kann bis zu 350 Teilnehmer:innen aus über 20 Ländern zählen. Seit 2003 ist die Norm, dass wir jährlich rund 40% Wiederkehrerinnen und 60% neue Teilnehmerinnen zählen. Das Durchschnittsalter liegt zwischen 20 und 35 Jahre. Der Gender-schnitt ist ca 55%/45%.

Schmiede is a co-creation and prototyping environment in the regional area, in Hallein, in the state of Salzburg. Our focus is on contemporary worlds around the arts, hacking and self-empowerment. Schmiede enables the process of social networking by bringing people, technology and space together on point, creating critical mass and giving our participants the freedom to proceed with their own work and find inspiration. Schmiede is encased in an extensive, in-depth and optional program. In the best case, this is also done by the participants for the participants. Schmiede is a semi-public context, the working part is reserved for the participants and is closed. The presentation part is freely accessible to the public.
