shapeshifting matter for an unstable universe
shapeshifting matter for an unstable universe is a multifaceted artistic project that challenges taxonomies and categories that divide nature into different boxes, not allowing bodies to exist freely, simply as part of the shapeshifting matter that inhabits this universe. I will present part of my research, which i developed during my residency at Schmiede, in which I compare my human trajectory to a salt dyke in Hallein’s geological formations, confronting social categories that try to define me, and giving geological processes an agency as part of the living systems.

DANIELA BRILL ESTRADA is an artist and researcher from bogotá currently living and working in vienna. her creative process is deeply inspired by the origin of life research, astrobiology, and the trajectories of different chemical elements, specially the element of carbon.
