Jury Statement
The invited artist Corrie Francis Parks and the proposed project Embodied Ice
focus on translating glacial time to human time. It is an interactive video installation which gives the audience the possibility to participate and get in contact with the artwork. For the residency in Salzburg the existing part will be adapted and further developed with material on site, including data inputs on human activity from public places or samples from the Salzach. With Miniature rock glaciers, the project addresses the social environmental problems. The artist was selected based on the high-quality project proposal that incorporates the aesthetics of techno-science in tangible projects and the clear Salzburg reference.
